Volunteers Needed

It takes a large number of volunteers to pull off the Great Deer Chase. And for those who have helped in the past we offer a HUGE Thank You! Especially to those who took care of our road crossings for the entire day!!

Our needs for the 15 & 25 Mile event:

Road Crossing guards -16 persons minimum at the start of the race, (12 intersections) 13 persons minimum during the race return (9 intersections).  Time frames (start of race from 9:55 am to 10:10 am; race return from 10:50 – 1:30 pm)

5 Course Marshals (out at various check points of the course to direct racers and help relay any aid needs.) Time varies on positioning but usually is no more than 2-1/2 hours.

End of Race Aid Station – 2 people

Timing – 6 people

Registration: Friday evening - 5 people;  Saturday morning – 4 people

Data Entry/proofing – 2 persons Friday and/or Saturday

Start Area Set up and Tear Down – 2 persons

Finish Area Set up and Tear Down – 3 Persons

Course set-up/marking – 3 persons, 1 truck, 2 Bikes & BOB trailers

Course Tear Down – 5 persons, 1 truck, 4 bikes w/ Trailers

 

For the Youth Races:

Road Crossing guards -16 persons minimum.  Time frame from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

End of Race Aid Station – 2 people

Timing – 4 people

Registration: Saturday 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm - 3 people

Data Entry/proofing – 2 persons same time frame as Registration

Course set-up/marking (revise some marking of adult course) – 2 persons, 2 Bikes & 1  trailer
